The Dooars or Duars are the alluvial floodplains in northeastern India that lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin. This region is about 30 km wide and stretches over about 350 km from the Teesta River in West Bengal to the Dhansiri River in Assam
Daywise Itinerary
Day 1 : Sealdah Station
Our Dooars tour starts from Sealdah Railway station by Kanchankanya Express at 08:30 PM by Sleeper class Coach.
Day 2 : Newmal Junction, Chalsa, Medla watch tower
Upon arrival at the Newmal Junction railway station, you are received and driven by Tata Sumo/ Mahindra-bulero to your resort at Jaldapar. This place is close to the Gorumara National Park. We prefer to put up our Dooars tour guests in resorts which give you a feeling of being either in the forest or in a tea garden.After lunch, drive straight to Medla Watch Tower. Have you ever thought about taking a bullock cart ride on the way to paradise! Your fantasy turns real when you take a ride on a bullock cart from Kalipur to Melda watchtower. Day 3 : Lava, Neora Valley
Early morning after breakfast, we are going for Lava &Neora Valley. Lava is a small hamlet in the foothill of the Himalayas; an enchanting landscape captivates your heart with an incredible view of Himalayan picks. The liquid gold Sunlight and the soothing melody of unknown birdsongs amuse you with a strange incantation.
Day 4 : Samsing, Suntalekhola, Rocky Island & Chapramari.
Early morning excursion to Samsing, Suntalekhola, &Rocky Island. Against the ho-hum of metropolitans, Samsing greets you with capricious cascades, picturesque landscape and green tea gardens that lie beyond the horizon.Like Samsing, Suntalekhola amuses you with its magnificent indigo sky and hundred shades of green. As you trek from Samsing to Suntakekhola, you walk into the heart of Dooars.
Day 5 : Gorumara, Murti, Bhutan (Phuntsiling).
Early morning we will check out hotel and your destination is Jaldapara hotel, on the road we will visit MurtiRiver The unremitting prosody of river Murti, murmur of the woods, and call of the wild - the trip to Jaldapara forest is an unforgettable journey.
Day 6 : Buxa, Jayanti, Rajabhatkhwa, Mahakal Mandir
Early Morning we will visit Buxa, Jayanti, Rajabhatkhawa, &MahakalMandir. Buxa, which was once known for dolomite mining, now enthrals tourists as one of the largest habitats for tigers. The place is also home to several known and unknown species of mammals and reptiles. If you are lucky, you may witness Leopards, Sambar, Asian Elephant, Gaur, Indian Civet, Pythons and countless species of animals that reside in this national park.
Day 7 : Jaldapara Jungle Safari, South Khyerbari leopard Park & rehabilitation Center
Early morning jaldapara safari &visit South Khyerbarileopard park and rehabilitation centre.The sanctuary of Jaldapara is famous for being home to the one-horned rhino and is a famous tourist spot since 1991. Spotting one-horned rhino amidst the elephant grasses remains the foremost attraction of the jungle safari and part of Dooars tour. A sparkling Matangi River, luxuriant vegetation enriched with a wide range of fauna mesmerizes every visitor here.
Day 8 : Departure
Return Back at Sealdah Station. Dooars tour package ends with sweet memories
